The Detectives - Harriet
Harriet joined us as a full-time trainee in 2008 and quickly started to learn her trade. Although in her early 20's her affinity for acting and youthful looks have led to her playing undercover roles aged from 15 to 26.
"I love everything about this job, although calling it a job is an understatement - it is easily the most satisfying thing I have ever done, and it's rare that I actually want to go home. It's also rare to know too far in advance what I'm actually going to be doing on any given day - the whole thing moves so fast that any plan changes and evolves quickly so you have to constantly think on your feet"
"In a few short months I have done so many things - from surveillance to process serving (it really takes the edge off for people presented with bad news for it to be delivered by someone 'sweet and innocent' like me!). I have acted the part of a student photographer and worked undercover; I have sat on some steps in the City and taken 300 photographs in an hour, couriered computers, learned how to take fingerprints and spent cold days trailing someone on foot around London."
"I have even taken the brave step of standing up in front of business groups and telling them about what we do - always a fun presentation whether it is to a business club or at a school careers day, and believe me, you shake and spend endless hours in front of a mirror before you do that for the first time!"
"Probably the best thing is the company culture; I know that in many places I would be boxed as the '21 year old girlie' but instead I am treated as an equal and my input and viewpoints are equal to the next persons - many organisations could learn a lot from our culture, which is probably why we seem to lead the field."
